PRE AND POST PERMANENT COSMETICS PROCEDURE CARE

Permanent Cosmetics is a two or more step process. The result cannot be determined until after the touch up applications.

  • Do not be alarmed by fading after the first application.
  • Flaking or loss of pigment may also occur
  • The final color CANNOT by judged until at least 3 weeks after the touch up applications are completed.
  • A touch up may also be required if pigment does not take in certain areas. Do not be alarmed, this is normal on some skin types. This is the reason follow ups are required.
  • The cost of a touch-up is $40.00.

We perform this service to the best of our ability, and to achieve the desired results, your cooperation is required in the following instructions:

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRE AND POST TREATMENT:

  • Ibuprofen can be helpful prior to treatment as it inhibits swelling and makes the client more comfortable.
  • Do not take aspirin, as it thins the blood so promoting bleeding. Another pain reliever may be taken for temporary pain relief.
  • Ice packs can be applied for a 15 minute interval per hour for the next 12 hours. Do not ice for more than 15 minutes at a time. Place a clean tissue between the ice bag and the skin.
  • Do not exercise heavily or do anything that will cause excessive swelling for at least 3 days, such as a sauna, a jacuzzi or hot, steamy, long showers.
  • Use sun block of at least SPF 30 to prevent fading.
  • Keep the area of pigmentation moist with a topical antibiotic ointment such as Bacitracin or Vaseline 4 times per day (1st thing in the morning, at night before bedtime and twice during the day) for a minimum or 2-3 days. Lubriderm lotion is also good.
  • Avoid soaps, facial cleansers, and Chlorine pools!
  • No makeup on pigmented areas for 3 days, including non-allergenic.
  • No sun or Retin A on pigmented areas to prevent fading.
  • Shower with your back to the water, shampoo/conditioner from getting onto the pigmented area. Have a sufficient amount of Bacitracin or Vaseline on the pigmented area during showers.
  • No terry towels on pigmented areas as they are too rough.
  • IF A CRUST APPEARS ON PIGMENTED SURFACE, DO NOT FORCE REMOVAL BY PICKING, SCRATCHING OR WASHING! PIGMENT MAY BE REMOVED ALONG WITH THE CRUST.

EYELINER:

  • Following the procedure, you may find the area slightly puffy for the first few mornings. Benadryl or Ibuprofen may be taken 1 hour before the procedure to help prevent swelling.
  • An enclosed ice bag should be applied for the first few hours @ 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off.
  • Either thinly sliced cucumbers or an enclosed ice bag placed on the eyes on the second day for a few minutes in the morning, along with sleeping somewhat propped up on your back will make a difference if you know that you have a tendency to swell.

EYEBROWS:

  • Some swelling and a little redness in the immediate area can be expected. Some itching is also expected.

LIPS:

  • If icing is not possible after treatment, first moisturize with Bacitracin, Aquaphor or Vaseline, and then blot the lip area for 30 minutes to remove any lymph fluid seeping from the area. This will diminish scabbing considerably.
  • Remember to lubricate the tissue with Bacitracin, Aquaphor or Vaseline after blotting.
  • Continue to keep the lips moist for 7 days while the lip tissue is healing.

Many people have indicated amazement at the results of using Herpilyn and Zilactin-L for “cold sores” and “fever blisters.” If a person has the herpes virus, they will most assuredly get a cold sore after having a lip procedure done. Technicians reports that clients who use this remedy three days before the procedure and for eight days after have not broken out with herpes. Herpilyn contains Allantoin and a 70:1 concentration of Melissa extract. Herpilyn is distributed by Enzymatic Therapy in the United States. The active ingredient in Zilactin-L is Lidocain 2.5%. Several medicines are available to treat HSV such as Acyclovir (Zovirax), Famciclovir (Famvir), and Valacyclovir (Valtrex).
